Turning records into understanding
Bookkeeping records what happened. Accounting builds on those records to explain what it means: how profitable the business is, where cash is going and what the numbers suggest for the months ahead. Our accounting support is designed for owners who want to understand their financial position, not just file it away.
Financial statements
We prepare the core financial statements from reconciled books:
- Profit and loss statement. Revenue, costs and profit for the period.
- Balance sheet. What the business owns and owes at a point in time. The SBA describes the balance sheet as a foundation of your business's financial picture in its guide to managing your finances.
- Cash-flow reporting. How cash moved in and out, which often differs from profit.
Account reviews and clean-up
Over time, charts of accounts get cluttered and old entries pile up in suspense or uncategorized accounts. We review and simplify the chart of accounts, correct misclassified entries and document adjustments, so your statements are consistent from month to month.
Management reporting
Beyond the standard statements, we can set up reports that answer your specific questions, such as profit by product, job, location or client. When those reports come out every month, trends become visible early.
Year-end close
At year end, we make sure the books are complete and reconciled, accruals and adjustments are recorded where appropriate and supporting schedules are organized for your tax preparer. That makes tax preparation smoother.
Getting started
